Areas with a high proportion of adults in social classes D and E are generally in the industrial cities of the
Midlands and north of England (e.g. Corby, Hull, Grimsby, Leicester, Stoke-on-Trent, Blackburn, Burnley,
Hartlepool and the Black Country), the valleys of South Wales and cities in the north east of England such as
Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
